For EMT’s, those in nursing profession, lifeguards, coaches, law enforcement personnel, security personnel, firefighters, and others in health and public safety. This is a non-profit course. Fees charged for this course are used to provide proper supplies, equipment, and staff. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the Association.

This course is designed to allow EMS Personnel a more in-depth look of the human body and how it functions. The course is of extreme benefit for the EMT Basic wishing to advance to the Advanced EMT or Paramedic level. Objectives based on the national scope of practice for paramedics by the NHTSA.  This is a hybrid course consisting of both online and classroom sessions. Upon the completion of registration, students will receive an information sheet containing class details and textbook.

This program meets DOT guidelines and is offered under the direction of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS. Course content prepares students to take the National Registry EMT Exam (exam not included in the course fee.) After satisfactorily completing the didactic and clinical portions, and passing the NREMT examination, students are eligible to apply for state certification. During the 13 week course, students are required to complete an additional 20 hours of clinical experience.
